The Riders Choice

ly interviewed Abdul Rahman Janahi, he has been riding bikes since 1984. He started riding bikes as it was something to do with his friends. He liked the freedom it gave him to explore Bahrain. He is married with four children. He recently took early retirement from his jbo working at ALBA as the Director of Administration. He has been a member of Bahrain’s Riders Club for a long time and is one of the original founders of this group.

He has two impressive Triumph bikes. The first is the Rocket 3 which has the largest motorbike engine ever built. The other bike he rides is the Tiger Explorer 1200 XC Adventure. Both bikes are the 2015 models. He prefers Triumph because he thinks that English bikes are better made and are crafted better with more care and attention and they are more reliable.

He has only made minor modifications to both of the bikes. He has added a wind breaker shield to the Rocket and to the Tiger Explorer he has added a navigation and sound system. He thinks that the bikes are amazing as they are and do not need any major modifications.

I asked him if he felt it was dangerous driving bikes in Bahrain but he said if you are courteous and drive with respect then he feels car drivers return the favour and show you the same amount of respect. He has not had any crashes and he thinks this is because he is a very safe driver but also because he offers maximum respect to other drivers. He does not like drivers that weave between lanes and thinks that bike riders should only overtake legally. He feels greatly that riding his bike gives him greater freedom than driving a car and he also says it is a great way of relieving stress.

He has been a member of Bahrain Riders Club for a very long time and he says it is one of the friendliest and most prestigious clubs in Bahrain. It has a huge network that is spread across 12 countries.IMG_6167 IMG_6170 IMG_6172 IMG_6173 IMG_6175 IMG_6177 IMG_6178 IMG_6180 IMG_6181 IMG_6193 IMG_6194 IMG_6196 IMG_6198 IMG_6200 IMG_6202 IMG_6203 IMG_6205 IMG_6206 IMG_6208 IMG_6211 IMG_6212 IMG_6220 IMG_6224 IMG_6228 IMG_6234 IMG_6237 IMG_6240 IMG_6242 IMG_6250 IMG_6255 IMG_6263 IMG_6265 IMG_6268 IMG_6291 IMG_6297 IMG_6298
