Batelco Racing narrowly edged out Go Gosaibi to win the third and final round of this year’s Bahrain Karting Endurance Championship (BKEC). The championship was held at the Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.
The team comprising Mohammed Mattar, Khaleed Alsaei, Saeed Al Mehairi and Alban Varrutti, rode into the chequered flag at the end of a grueling 24 hours only 0.096 seconds ahead of Go Gosaibi. The two teams completed a total of 1,107 laps around Bahrain International Karting Circuit’s 1.414-kilometre CIK track.
The Go Gosaibi team comprised of Hussain Hasan, Rashid Almuammari, Ali Baslar and Abdulla Bu Hindi.
In third place was Zain Racing 1, finished one lap behind to complete the race’s top three overall winners. The karting team was Mohammed Ameen, Khalid Alhamadi, Raed Raffii and Najashi Rashdan.
As racing to the Pro class progressed, the winners were Batelco, Zain racing 1 and Zain racing 2. In the Nations class the winners were Go Gosaibi, BeeSa Racing and RKC HSM Racing. In the corporate class the winners were Redline Racing and Texel Air.
Overall champions at the end of season were Batelco with 120 points; Go Gosaibi with 102 points and Zain Racing with 79 points.
In the Pro Class Batelco earned 120 points, Zain Racing 1 was on 98 points and Ice Racing on 85 points. In the Nations Class Go Gosaibi had 120 points, BeeSa Racing had 92 points and Zain Racing 2 had 50 points. In the Corporate Class 1st Redline Racing 1 took the podium with 111 points, followed by Texel Air with 90 points and Redline Racing 2 with 50 points.
