Shaikh Isa Begins Campaign with Impressive Double in Max/Max Masters Class

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, hosted an exciting opening round of the 2013/2014 Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC) at its world-class Bahrain International Karting Circuit in Sakhir.

The nine-round challenge is in its third season, and is made up of two competition categories: the BRMMC for Rotax kart owners and the Sodi Sprint W Series (SSWS) for arrive-and-drive competitors. Both divisions feature some of the best up-and-coming karters in the kingdom.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla triumphed in both races of the BRMMC’s Max/Max Masters class. The talented youngster claimed race one ahead of Abdulrahman Waleed, while Adeeb Kuzbar finished in third. Abdulla Al Thawadi, Hussain Al A’ali and Mohammed Abdulaziz rounded out the finishing order in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively.

Race two saw Al Thawadi claim second place as he muscled out Kuzbar who finished third. This time, Abdulaziz took fourth, ahead of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa in fifth and Najashi Rashdan in sixth.

Meanwhile, Hussain Hasan put on a fine performance to win race one in the BRMMC Jr Max division. He placed ahead of Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa and third place Abdulla Beshara. Shaikh Isa took top honours at race two, ahead of Hasan, while Abdulla Beshara again placed third.

There was plenty of action in the SSWS RX250 class, which featured a full grid of 17 karts. Ali Abdulla began his challenge campaign in style as he won the night’s only race ahead of Raed Rafie in second place and Mohammed Faqihi who finished third.

At the end of racing, the winners were awarded their trophies in a special prize-giving ceremony.

Round two of the challenge will take place on October 5 and promises some more exciting high-octane action as the karters look to solidify their campaigns leading up to the championship’s final round next May. Fans can look forward to more engaging karting action and cheer on their favourite karters each month at the Bahrain International Karting Circuit.
