With 130 events in 21 countries and six continents, Spartan is the pioneer of modern obstacle races, which have become the fastest growing participant sport in the world. Our mission is to make obstacle course racing a global lifestyle and Olympic sport.
The Bahrain event featured the Spartan Sprint (5 kilometers / 20+ obstacles) as well the Junior Spartan (for ages 4 to 14).
While they do offer competitive elite heats, Spartan Races are for athletes of all levels and abilities, and the goal is to rip people away from their couches into the great outdoors and inspire them to lead a fitter, healthier life. Participants can enter individually or as a team and one of the main benefits is working together to overcome the various challenges and help each other excel.
Rayyan Yacob Agha, MENA Managing Director, Spartan Race said: ‘’We have seen first-hand how Spartan can change lives and give people the motivation they need to achieve a new level of fitness and wellbeing. Taking part is an incredible experience and the majority of people catch the ‘Spartan Bug’ after experiencing the race only once and come back time and time again determined to improve.”
‘’Bahrain’s desert terrain offers a particularly exciting opportunity for athletes to test their skills in a unique environment and last year’s race attracted a number of elite competitors from Europe and the US’’ added Rayyan.
